RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A raccoon found in Radnor Township has confirmed to have been rabid, officials said Tuesday.

A resident walking their dog on the Skunk Hollow Trails encountered the animal at about 9 a.m. Friday near the Boy Scout Bridge, according to township officials.

As police waited with the resident to find the raccoon, an unleashed dog ran up to the raccoon and picked it up in its mouth, but soon thereafter dropped the raccoon and was leashed by its owner.
