KUCHING, Feb 6: The same suspected rabid dog has bitten at least 12 people in Jalan Chawan and Tabuan Jaya, said Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.

Wee said as of 4.32pm today, the council has received reports indicating that as many as 12 people have been bitten by the same dog yesterday and today.

The update came following his announcement earlier that six people had been bitten by the same dog; four of them at Tabuan Jaya today while two were bitten at Jalan Chawan yesterday.

Among the 12 victims, 11 are male while the remaining one is female.

Those who had been bitten or even scratched by the animal have been advised to seek immediate treatment at hospitals.

“For those who know who is the owner (of the suspected rabid dog), please make a police report,” said Wee during a livestream on his social media page today.

The suspected rabid dog has since been caught at Tabuan Jaya commercial area at about 3pm and is currently being tested for rabies. — DayakDaily
